About me

Posted in: Uncategorized

I like to build things. Not as much in the “classical” sense, like being handy around the house, but in the web sense.

I’m part developer, part consultant. My web role involves creating semantically rich, standards-based sites. I feel the web shifting from an emphasis on back-end systems to one of platform-agnostic, data rich front-end experiences. The successful and innovative company will provide it’s data in a palatable format for its employees and consumers to use and make intelligent decisions, plus provide feedback on how to make things better. It’s a constant two way conversation with benefits for all parties.

Wearing the consulting hat gives me an opportunity to utilize my skills communicating the virtues of a industry that moves fast. Really fast. My goal is to not overwhelm, but provide basic foundations, concrete examples, and guide those who need to make important decisions, understanding that I may not agree with every decision being made.

On any given day you’ll find me interacting and working to subtly forge diverse and innovative teams, extracting useful information from team members and collaborating with individuals. I believe I learn something new every day and never claim to know everything — although I usually know where to find the answers to the questions.

Most importantly, I enjoy playing and having fun in this space. As a former co-worker once said, “it’s just a website”.
